Beginning Tuesday, March 19, "Another Kind of Cinema," the free-entry film festival jointly organized by the University of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore, Sant'Anna School to promote the Inter-University Desk Against Gender Violence, begins.

There are four appointments at the Arsenale cinema (Vicolo Scaramucci, 2, Pisa), one per month, starting Tuesday, March 19, at 9 p.m., to present films on gender identity and violence, self-determination, rights and solidarity networks. The screenings are followed by a debate, in the presence of realities committed to the issues at the center of the film festival.

Here is the schedule for the entire review: on Tuesday, March 19, "The Accusation" by Yvan Attal (France, 2021), with talks by Francesca Pidone and Sara Sgroi of the "Casa della Donna Anti-Violence Center" and Edoardo Vaccaro of "Nuovo Maschile." Tuesday, April 16, "Misericordia" by Emma Dante (Italy, 2023), talks by actress Simona Malato and Chiara Tognolotti of the University of Pisa. Tuesday, May 14 "Those Two" by William Wyler (USA, 1962) commented by Giada Rossi of Pink Riot Arcigay Pisa. On Tuesday, June 4, last appointment with "Two Days, One Night" by Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne (Belgium, France, Italy, 2014), attended by Federica Condipodero (University of Pisa), and Armanda Cetrulo (Sant'Anna School).

"The idea behind the review is to publicize the activities of the Desk - created by a joint initiative of Normale, Sant'Anna and the University of Pisa, with the support of the Casa della Donna - and to promote the culture of gender equality, and the respect and appreciation of differences, in the total rejection of all forms of violence and harassment," explains Renata Pepicelli, Associate Professor at the University of Pisa who coordinates the Anti-Violence Desk; in 2023 the initiative was a great success, the hope is to replicate it for this edition as well".
